The 3rd Minority Supplier Development China Summit – 2011 MSD China National Conference and Business Opportunity Fair was concluded successfully in Yanji on Sep. 4, 2011!  

The 3rd Minority Supplier Development China Summit – 2011 MSD China National Conference and Business Opportunity Fair was concluded successfully in Yanji on Sep. 4, 2011! 12 major purchasing corporations sent their representatives to participate in this summit. They are: Cummins Inc., D. W. Morgan Company, General Mills, IBM Corporation, Johnson Controls, Inc., Marriott International, Inc., PepsiCo, Inc., Research In Motion (RIM), Technology Integration Group (TIG), Tianjin Tasly Group Co., Ltd., Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, and The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G). A lot of minority business enterprises from all over China also attended this grand conference and business opportunity fair.

The significant achievements of this summit are as follows:

  • Reached a consensus on jointly facilitating minority supplier Development in China with local government and promoting the concept to the rest 29 minority autonomous prefectures in China
  • Certified 12 local minority suppliers
  • Presented 2011 MSD China annual awards – Marriott International, Inc. was awarded with “Corporate Member of the Year”
  • Created a new model for workshops – After the presentations made by representatives from Chinese minority business enterprises, the representatives from major purchasing corporations gave comments on their companies and products, and answered questions from them on site.

Mr. Lou Zhou, MSD China Board Chair, and Mr. Bruce Geier, President & CEO of Technology Integration Group, were answering questions from reporters at the media conference.

Mr. Bruce Geier, President & CEO of Technology Integration Group, and Ms. Ying McGuire, Vice President of International Operations and Business Development of Technology Integration Group, were tasting Kimchi, a traditional food for Korean ethnic group.

       

Some high-tech minority-owned enterprises also attended the business opportunity fair.

Mr. Lou Zhou, MSD China Board Chair, presented Marriott with “Corporate Member of the Year”, and Mr. Charles Lu, Area Procurement Director - Asian Region of Marriott international, Inc., accepted the prize on behalf of Marriott.

Ms. Ying McGuire, Vice President of International Operations and Business Development of Technology Integration Group (TIG), was awarded with “Most Dedicated Individual of the Year” by Ms. Yang Liu, Executive Director of MSD China.

Mr. Hong Qing (Right 7), Vice Governor of Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, took a group photo with the guests at the closing gala dinner.
