2012 High-Level Roundtable on Minority Supplier Development in China was successfully held in Shanghai on February 23, 2012. Those Corporate Members whose procurement department is located in Shanghai sent representatives to attend this meeting.
All participants had an extensive discussion on MSD China work plan in 2012, how to effectively develop second tier supplier program, and media plan, etc.. At the meeting, the attendees gave a lot of constructive suggestions on the development of MSD China in the future, and also showed keen interest in those upcoming fantastic activities and events MSD China would organize this year.
Mr. Lou Zhou, Asia Pacific, Director, Client Service Procurement, IBM and MSD China Board Chair expressed that as the only multinational corporation that had established and implemented supplier diversity program in China among MSD China Corporate Members, IBM had rich experiences in this field and would like to share best practices and success stories with other Corporate Members. Ms. Tina Wu, AP Supplier Diversity Program Manager, IBM Global Procurement, Integrated Supply Chain (ISC), also gave a wonderful presentation on IBM’s second tier supplier program at the meeting.

Other participants include Mr. Jason Timms, Purchasing, Foam, Chemicals and Resins, Asia Pacific, and Ms. Merry Zhang, from Johnson Controls, Mr. Fred Xu from Accenture, and Ms. Ying McGuire, Vice President of International Operations and Business Development, Technology Integration Group (TIG), who has always been giving us many helpful advice and great support since the launching of MSD China.
